How to Remove Your Press-On Nails Gently & Safely
Say goodbye to damaged nails! The right removal method is just as important as the application. Follow our guide based on the adhesive you used for a pain-free, healthy removal every time.
Before You Start: A Gentle Reminder
Never pull or force your nails off! This can peel layers off your natural nail, leaving them weak and damaged. Patience is key to keeping your nails healthy underneath.
Choose Your Removal Method
Method 1: For Jelly Glue / Adhesive Tabs (The Easiest & Quickest)
Perfect for when you need a change fast. This gentle adhesive is designed for short-term wear and easy removal.
- Soak: Soak your nails in warm, soapy water for 5-10 minutes to loosen the adhesive.
- Slide & Lift: Gently slide the tip of an orange wood stick or cuticle pusher under the edge of the press-on nail. The nail should lift off easily with little to no resistance.
- Clean Up: Wipe your natural nails clean with an alcohol pad. There will be virtually no residue!
Method 2: For LUNE NAIL Odorless Peelable Nail Glue (The Flexible Peel-Off)
Our special formula offers a strong hold but allows for relatively easy, whole-piece removal when you're ready.
- Loosen with Warmth: Start by soaking your hands in warm water or applying a warm, damp towel to your nails for a few minutes. This helps soften the bond.
- Gently Pry & Peel: Use a wooden stick to gently pry up a small corner of the nail. Once you have a lift, you can often slowly peel the entire nail off in one piece like a sticker, thanks to its flexible formula.
- Remove Residue: If any slight glue film remains, gently roll it off with your finger or use a bit of cuticle oil on a cotton swab to wipe it away.
Method 3: For Strong Liquid Glue or Semi-Cured Gel (The Soak-and-Dissolve Method)
This method is for the strongest, longest-lasting hold. It requires a little more time and a key product: Nail Glue Remover.
- Apply Remover: Carefully drip a drop of nail glue remover into the side seam where your natural nail and the press-on nail meet. Tip: You can use the bottle's dropper or a small brush.
- Wait & Loosen: Wait about 30 seconds for the remover to dissolve the adhesive. Then, gently work an orange wood stick under the loosened edge.
- Work Slowly: Add another drop of remover into the new gap you've created, working your way across the nail. Do not force it. Let the remover do the work.
- Lift Off & Clean: Once the adhesive is fully dissolved, the nail will come off easily. Use the wooden stick to gently scrape off any remaining glue residue from your natural nail.
- Nourish: Wash your hands and apply a nourishing cuticle oil or nail strengthener to rehydrate your nails.
Aftercare is Everything
No matter which method you use, always finish with a little TLC for your natural nails:
- Wash your hands to remove any residue.
- Moisturize with hand cream and cuticle oil.
- Give your nails a break for a day or two before applying a new set.
♻️ Pro Tip: After removal, gently clean your Lune press-on nails with an alcohol pad. They are reusable 2-3 times with proper care!
